On the first day of spring in Farmer Green's garden, a young asparagus stalk notices his new neighbor, a cabbage. Thus begins a captivating conversation between two vegetables, neither of which is sure what to make of the other. Despite their doubts, Albert and Herman come to share their home, the fear of being picked or eaten, but most of all, they share the pleasure of one another's company.
